Significance of Miruthynajaya Homam
MahaMrithyunjaya Manthra have most likely heard of the famous Rik from the Rig-Veda, Seventh Mandala, Fourth Chapter, Forty-ninth Suktha, and Twelfth Sloka is the famous Shiva Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.
Mrithyumjaya Homam helps to mitigate the dangers to life due to accidents and serious ills. This also helps in removing evil effects of enemies( Sathru Dosha Nivarana).
Basically, Mrithyumjaya Homam is conducted with 7 item; Chamatha twigs, Peraal twigs, sesame, Karuka leaves, cow’s milk , Palpayasam and Gee.
To cure fever, Kadaladi Chamatha , with cooked rice , is offered. For prosperity, Koovala Chamatha ,with cooked raw rice, is offered. For the elimination of rivalry ‘White Kaduku’(mustard) is the major offering.
